Allow time to sign in and get kitted up before your booked start time.

Who can take part?

Drivers must be at least 15 years old, with a minimum inside leg measurement of 29 inches, measured from the crotch to the base of the heel of the shoe. Under-16s need an adult over 18 to sign them in.

No driving licence is required. Karts are single-seaters, so no passengers. Pregnant participants cannot take part.

What should I wear and bring?

Dress for the weather and a field-based activity centre. Comfortable activewear and closed-toe shoes, preferably trainers, are recommended. Open-toe shoes and high heels are not permitted.

Sanitised helmets are provided. A balaclava is mandatory: bring your own or buy one for £3. Overalls and gloves are available to hire. If you would like to bring your own helmet, call the team to confirm suitability.

How do the time trials work?

Choose 20 or 30 minutes of driving, split into two or three 10-minute time-trial sessions with 15-minute breaks between sessions. Up to five karts run in each session. Training and tuition are provided, and computer timing lets you focus on improving your own lap time.

Allow a minimum of 60 minutes for the 20-minute experience. For the 30-minute experience, allow 90 minutes on site, including kitting up and breaks between races. Please also follow the arrival requirement: at least 45 minutes before your booked start time for signing in and getting ready.

How do deposits and group bookings work?

A £10 deposit per person secures your booking, with the remaining balance payable on the day. For more than five people, or any booking after 5pm, call 01392 925823 so we can arrange your session. The 11th person goes free.

A £250 group damage deposit is also taken on the day and refunded in full after the experience, subject to only general wear and tear on the karts. See the booking terms for cancellation conditions.

Can friends and family come to watch?

Yes. Spectators are welcome at no extra charge. There are picnic areas, vending machines and an on-site café.

Can we add other activities?

Yes. Exeter Karting is part of Devon Activity Centre. Activities on site include quad biking, Segways, footgolf, archery, air rifles, clay shooting and axe throwing.
